Amanda & James’ Fun Sydney Micro Wedding

There’s something incredibly special about a micro wedding. Without the pressure of a large guest list or a packed timeline, couples get to spend more of their wedding day doing exactly what it’s all about, enjoying each other’s company.

Amanda and James embraced that perfectly.

Their ceremony took place at beautiful Quibaree Park in Lavender Bay, overlooking Sydney Harbour on one of those perfect Sydney afternoons. With incredible weather, stunning harbour views and their closest loved ones by their side, it was the perfect way to begin married life.

Before the ceremony, we started in the city to explore some of Sydney’s most iconic locations. One of our favourite things about photographing Sydney weddings is that every street corner offers something completely different, allowing us to create a gallery full of variety without travelling far.

We wandered along George Street with the Sydney Light Rail passing by, creating those unmistakably Sydney moments that instantly place you in the heart of the city. From there we stopped at Sydney Town Hall, whose grand sandstone architecture creates timeless wedding portraits that never go out of style.

Of course, no city portrait session would be complete without a visit to The Rocks. We spent some time around the famous pink wall and nearby cafés before continuing through Tank Stream Way and Angel Place, two hidden Sydney laneways that always photograph beautifully and offer a completely different feel from the busy city streets.

Amanda and James made the entire afternoon look effortless. There was no complicated posing or forced moments. Just genuine laughter, plenty of smiles and two people completely wrapped up in each other. Those are always our favourite kinds of weddings to photograph.
