We so excited that you are interested in choosing us to document your wedding! We believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. The kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. We believe in creating images that are works of art, worthy of being printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
Whenever we pick up our cameras, we strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of both the people in the images and the world around them.

After photographing more than a hundred weddings over the past
few years, we’ve found that we’re not the perfect fit for every couple.
That’s why this process begins with a conversation. We want to hear
everything—how you met, funny first date stories, and how you got
engaged.
We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details of your
day, answer any questions you might have about working with us and
figure out if we’re the best fit for each other.
We're here as a resource beyond photography—whether you're looking for engagement session outfit recommendations, timeline advice, or vendor referrals.
Even if you're working with a wedding planner or you're planning a simple wedding, there are likely still a lot of moving pieces left leading up to your big day. We've photographed more than 150 weddings in the past few years and we're happy to share everything we've learned along the way!
We’re big fans of engagement sessions for a few reasons. Not only do they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera, they also give you the opportunity to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you.
Engagement sessions can take place anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. We’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos. We normally plan sessions based on a particular “look” a couple has in mind, spring flowers for example, or based on schedules.
We check-in about two months before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else we should know about your big day.
While we normally don't send this questionnaire until closer to the wedding, please don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions during the planning process!
It's finally here! The day the two of you say "I Do" and dance the night away surrounded by your family and friends.
Just know we're excited to celebrate and capture your wedding day. It's going to be awesome.
You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about three weeks of your wedding. At that time, we'll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums.
We hope the relationship doesn't end after we deliver your photographs. We want to hear about the adventures of married life. And if you decide to have kids, we'd love to document your growing family.
We are based in Sydney, Australia. Yes! We travel all the time and are always so excited to travel to new destinations to capture beautiful photos and videos (when we are not restricted due to a global pandemic).
We offer special discounted rates for destination weddings to make things more affordable.
Yes! There is a $150 saving when booking both photography and videography through one of our collections.
Simon started shooting weddings as a photographer in 2008 and Shyani in 2015. Prior to this, Simon was an event, fashion and editorial photographer and worked for big brands like Disney, Vogue, Harper’s BAZAAR and Cosmopolitan. Simon has been fortunate to be able to transfer his passion for photography into videography, often thinking 10 steps ahead to create one of a kind cinematic wedding films.
Shyani started off as a newborn/baby and family photographer in 2012 and has a Diploma in Professional photography as well as mentoring from five of the world's leading wedding photographers and other creatives.
Yes! We have worked together on countless occasions and never step on each other's toes. We have a symbiotic photographer/videographer relationship so to speak and often bounce ideas off each other while taking turns to capture the magic. 100% of the editing will be done by us!
We work well together as a photography/videography duo because, well, we live together and it’s pretty much the only thing we have in common and agree on, other than lego and cats (and each other).
On occasion, we do have assistants or experienced second shooters helping us to capture things like the groom prep, guests mingling at canapés while we are out at your portrait session etc. but we always let you know beforehand.
We are both fully vaccinated and if COVID-19 restrictions get in the way of your big day we’ll work closely with you to find a new date that suits everyone, and won’t charge any postponement fees.
Please note that the Booking Fee (20% of the total service fee) is non-refundable if your wedding is moved to a date when we aren’t available but with all of our postponements since the pandemic started, this has not happened yet.
We currently take bookings up to 18 months in advance. Just send us an enquiry with the package you are interested in and any add-ons and we will send through a quote.
We require a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking to secure your date and a balance is payable 7 days prior to your wedding day.
Yes, absolutely! We set up an initial consultation over the phone or zoom and answer any questions and offer tips we might have from our years of experience. We stay in touch and help with the scheduling and planning and have a final consultation the week prior to your wedding day.
If you have booked a pre-wedding shoot, we spend the afternoon together laughing and getting to know each other in person!
We both 100% believe that ANY two people who are lucky to have found each other have the right to be married! We strongly believe in equality, acceptance and celebrating love.
We are so lucky to meet and work with so many incredible couples and are waiting for the day that this question never needs to be asked!
Photos
We always send through a sneak peek gallery within a few days after the wedding and we aim to deliver everything to you within approximately 3 months of the wedding day. Portrait sessions can take about 4 weeks for final delivery.
Video:
As a 4-minute video takes Simon 40-50 hours to edit and we generally spend more time actually shooting than editing during peak seasons (March - May and September - November), the final delivery can take up to 6 months after the wedding day. Simon shoots and edits everything on his own and does not outsource like some of the larger photography/videography companies. We always try and deliver earlier whenever possible because we are excited for you to watch it too!
Photos
For a typical wedding day, expect around 600+ professionally edited, high resolution digital images in an online gallery and a USB so you have something tangible to hold. You can download, print and share these! A print box is included for weddings 10+ hours. We do not impose a limit on the number of photos taken/delivered, you can expect approximately 50-100 edited high resolution images for every hour of coverage.
If you really love seeing your photos in print, we can assist with professional archival grade prints and albums at your request.
Video
Simon seems to work 100km/ph at a wedding (at least his brain does) to capture every detail perfectly so he can execute his vision in the editing room - where the real magic happens. He creates a breathtaking 4-6 minute cinematic film, professionally colour graded set to licensed music, often overlaid to your vows/speeches, and focuses on capturing the emotion and love in an engaging and creative way.
You can order the full ceremony and reception speeches separately with the original audio. This will still be edited with multiple camera angles. This depends on the duration, timeline and may require a second videographer.
Yes we do! And Simon uses this whenever possible for establishing shots for his videos. We are sometimes limited by weather and aviation restrictions (such as being near an airport, private property or military base) but it’s always exciting to be able to see the location where you get married from the sky!
For a full wedding (with getting ready, ceremony and reception) we find that 8 - 10 hours coverage works perfectly. We end the coverage at 10pm or at the last formality at the reception, whichever happens first. We are more than happy to stick around longer and extra hours can be added on for each of us.
Shorter bookings (elopements and micro-weddings) are available if you don’t need us to hang around for the whole day.
Funnily enough, if you put either of us in front of the camera, we tend to freeze and be all kinds of awkward (what do I do with my redundant arm?!) - but we DO know how to pose! We have even taken actual courses on it (four of them).
Our style throughout the day is journalistic, we capture what is happening in front of us and remain as unobtrusive as possible. We work hard to capture the spontaneous laughter, intimate moments and all the good stuff that happens naturally throughout the day.
We are people-centred photographers which means that during your portrait session, we will casually guide you into poses that are the most flattering for you both (these are only tiny adjustments and you won’t even feel the difference and sometimes can be hilarious!).
A lot of our couples opt to have a pre-wedding shoot for this very reason! They learn our posing methodology and style and it becomes one less thing to be nervous about on the actual wedding day - trust us, you’ve got this!
Your online gallery will be available for 1 year after we deliver your images and we will keep your images backed up for 6 months after we deliver the gallery or USB. We recommend that you backup your images onto another device or Cloud storage immediately upon receiving your images.
Your online gallery is password protected so only you can share this with whoever you like.
Like other artists, photography and videography for us is a creative process. We take enormous pride in capturing your day in the most artistic way possible and we spend hours (approximately 40-50 hours for the cinematic short film and 20 hours for the photos) in the editing room afterwards perfecting each and every shot. This is why we love sharing our work on our social media and putting up a blog post on our website (which you can share too!). Sometimes we submit weddings to online or print publications - and if you would like to do this, let us know!
However, if you request that we don’t share your photos/video, we will keep things private for you.
Photos
We only do minimal adjustments to our photos - we like to keep things as natural as possible to the day. We adjust for exposure, white balance, sharpening and contrast and colour match our images so they are consistent as the day goes on (the changing light temperatures and sunlight conditions can drastically change a photo). We also like to mix in some black and white images, especially during prep shots.
We do not airbrush or change body shapes because we both think people are perfect the way they are! However, hypothetically, if you do break out with an unfortunate pimple the morning of your wedding day, We will remove this because this is not who you are.
Video
Simon already has a vision for the video in mind when he gets to the editing room and spends time carefully extracting the most important moments of your day. He deliberately edits the video to the beats in the soundtrack to make it as emotive and cinematic as possible. The colour grading of the footage is comparable to what you might be used to seeing in the cinema. If requested, he will overlay dialogue on top (some people love this, others hate the sound of their own voices on a recording haha).
We both use Nikon for photography as it has more minty green/yellow tones (which really only camera nerds like us can tell). For Videography its a mixture of both Sony and Nikon shot using proress 422 log footage that delivers a highly professional cinematic finish.
We also use an array of high quality lenses from Nikon, Sony, Canon and Sigma. Over our 20 years of experience, we have found that some lenses perform better than others and we will mix and match to achieve our look. We usually use mostly prime lenses on the day to achieve those dreamy shots our clients love.
Shyani also (on occasion) shoots with a Pentax 645 Medium Format Film camera for reference photos - there’s something so magical and timeless about old school film which we work very hard to emulate in our digitals in the editing room. Film photography can be added on for an additional cost.
We currently only deliver the finished products to our clients because 50% comes from our editing. However, if you do want to purchase the raw data files from us, it needs to be ordered before the wedding day and we will send through a quote including the cost of the hard drive.
Simon shoots in a flat profile (10-bit 422 log; this means that the raw footage comes to about 3TB of data and looks completely grey and dull). He spends about 40-50 hours colour grading, adding sharpening and does exposure adjustments from scratch. The final video is 4K resolution and perfectly colour matched to reflect your perfect day! Here is an example of what goes into colour-grading a video: Colour grading LOG wedding films using FCPX - no LUTS
We like to observe, anticipate and document the day as it unfolds, allowing for as many natural and candid moments as possible to take place. We strive for consistency in our editing and shooting style, giving each photograph a clean and timeless look.
As much as we know our couples would love to choose their own music, sadly we can only use licensed music to avoid copyright laws. Simon uses MusicBed that has a large library of music and chooses the songs carefully to match the tone and vibe of your wedding.
With licensed music we have the option of having clean tracks as well (without lyrics) allowing us to seamlessly cut into a vocalless track to insert your vows or speeches in. Selecting the music is a very time consuming component to the process, to find a song that perfectly has the correct bpm build and or has a crescendo to really bring the film home. The song is a very integral part of the video and is what can make or break the video, so extreme care is taken to choose the appropriate song.
But what if I really want a song from Tayler Swift? If you insist on a song from your favorite artist, you can get in touch with BMI and request a licensed direct from the artist. Please note this could be several thousand dollars. If the song you wish to have has lyrics in it, we may not be able to incorporate any of your vows or speeches as there will be two voices at the same time.
