After meeting on Tinder and bonding over a mutual love of wedding photography, we quickly realised we worked better together than solo.
Simon joined Shyani’s established business, Moments Photography, and together we expanded into Moments Photography & Film, offering wedding photography and cinematic videography across the Southern Highlands, Sydney and destinations worldwide.
Shyani holds a Diploma of Professional Photography and blends a background in psychology and law with an eye for authentic storytelling.
Simon brings more than a decade of professional experience, including work as a freelance fashion photographer for Harper’s BAZAAR, Cosmopolitan Australia, Disney and Norton Rose Fulbright.

Our work is all about nostalgia, raw emotion and real people. Alongside digital photography and videography, we offer true film coverage with 35 mm stills, 120 mm medium format and Super 8 motion film for couples who love the timeless character of analogue images.
We’re especially drawn to Southern Highlands weddings and colourful, vintage-inspired celebrations that feel a little quirky and full of personality.
Weddings have taken us from Fiji’s beaches to the streets of Tokyo and across Australia from Adelaide to Brisbane to Tasmania. We’ve hiked two hours up a mountain -and two hours back down- loaded with gear to capture one perfect shot. Whether it’s cherry blossoms in Japan or golden hour light in the Blue Mountains or Hunter Valley, we’re always ready for the next adventure, electrolytes packed. We also offer large discounts for destination weddings because we’d rather invest in the experience than in extra fees.
When we’re not documenting love stories, you’ll probably find us at home building our collection of LEGO modular buildings while listening to true crime podcasts or Shyani rewatching her favourite Korean dramas and planning our next trip to Japan. We share our space with two rescue cats, Bailey and Morgan, who supervise every build and occasionally rearrange the pieces. Travel is our other shared obsession: Bali, Italy, New Zealand and Canada weddings are all on our wish list.
At Moments Photography & Film, we are all about the real, the raw and the joyful. We love capturing weddings filled with movement, colour, laughter and perfectly imperfect moments that tell your story exactly as it happened. Think champagne sprays, unruly veils, hype squads, mixed bridal parties, pets in bow ties and confetti flying everywhere.
We are drawn to out of the ordinary celebrations like quirky elopements, champagne towers, sparkler exits and share plate feasts under the stars. We chase golden sunsets, adore vintage vibes, and can never resist a highland cow or a flower girl with a bow bigger than her head.
