MEET SHYANI

I’m Shyani (pronounced ‘Sharni’), a self-proclaimed multipotentialite. My eccentric collection of hobbies and interests include (and are not limited to) photography, lego, trivia and card games, learning Korean so I can watch Korean dramas without subtitles, cats, making novelty cakes, watercolour painting and restarting my diet and exercise goals every Monday.

I studied psychology and law before discovering my passion for photography which quickly become an obsession and led me to achieving a Diploma of Professional Photography. Photography is my way of creating meaningful memories and connecting with amazing people.

MEET SIMON

I’m Simon (pronounced ‘Simon’), a lover of sports, interior design and true crime documentaries. In a previous life, I worked as a freelance event/runway photographer for Harper’s BAZAAR, Cosmopolitan Australia, 2threads, Norton Rose Fulbright, Flaunt Marketing and a fashion photographer for Disney.

I started my photography journey shooting nightclubs in Sydney's Kings Cross in the early 2000's before turning to Wedding and Portrait photography / videography, firstly with Simon Wilde Photography before joining forces with Shyani to create Moments Photography & Film.

We are so lucky to be able to do what we love and honoured to be able to share our passion with our clients. Our favourite moments are those that unfold naturally and effortlessly – the look of pride as a father sees his little girl in a wedding dress for the first time, the nervous anticipation of waiting for a partner to walk down the aisle and say “I do” and the excitement (and relief) on the faces of our couples as they walk back down the aisle hand in hand as husband and wife – these moments are everything to us!

We are known for our positive (seemingly endless) energy and relaxed and fun approach to posing our clients so that they feel at ease in front of the camera and focus on being themselves. In other words, we let the moments naturally unfold while also instructing you exactly what to do with your hands (any awkwardness melts away!)

We want your images and video to be the best visual representation of a special time in your lives and we work with you so that you can focus on enjoying your day without any stress.

We love being a photography/videography duo (as well as a real-life couple) because we don't step on each other's toes, and we understand (without even saying a word) what the other needs. It's like having two sets of eyes always looking out for the best shot!
