Zen & Kevin’s Beautiful Autumn Wedding at High Ball House

Autumn in the Southern Highlands is always something special. The cooler weather, vibrant autumn colours and golden afternoon light create one of the most beautiful backdrops for a wedding anywhere in New South Wales, and Zen and Kevin couldn’t have chosen a better day.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, these two were married at the stunning High Ball House, one of the Southern Highlands‘ most unique wedding venues. Every corner of the property was glowing with autumn colour, giving us endless opportunities for portraits amongst the golden trees and gardens.

What made this wedding particularly memorable was just how thoughtfully every detail had been planned. Zen brought her vision to life herself, creating a wedding that felt elegant, intentional and completely personal. From the ceremony styling through to the reception details, everything came together beautifully without ever feeling overdone.

The outdoor ceremony was relaxed and intimate, perfectly suited to the peaceful surroundings of High Ball House. Afterwards we wandered through the property as the afternoon sun filtered through the autumn leaves, creating the kind of warm, natural light photographers dream about. Zen and Kevin were complete naturals in front of the camera, making every portrait feel effortless.

Alongside digital photography, we also captured parts of the day on Super 8 film and on film with the Pentax 67 on medium format, adding another nostalgic layer to an already beautiful celebration. It’s always a special way to preserve the atmosphere and movement of a wedding day.
