Tina & Zack’s Colourful Gunners Barracks Wedding in Mosman

Tina and Zack’s wedding was one of those Sydney days that just kept giving. Beautiful blue skies, Sydney Harbour sparkling in the background, an incredible amount of colour and two people who clearly wanted their wedding to feel like a celebration.

They started the day getting ready at The Albert Mosman before heading to Gunners Barracks for their ceremony and reception.

From first looks and colourful flowers to bubble guns, big laughs, emotional moments and sparklers after dark, Tina and Zack’s wedding was packed with exactly the kind of moments we love photographing.

Getting Ready at The Albert Mosman

We absolutely love photographing weddings at The Albert. It is a beautiful heritage hotel in Mosman and gives us so many different spaces to work with before the wedding even begins.

Tina got ready with her bridal party in one of the gorgeous rooms, with its dark walls, decorative ceilings, patterned floors and beautiful natural light. Her simple white gown looked incredible against the darker interiors, while the bright pink, orange, peach and red flowers brought a huge splash of colour to the morning.

There was plenty happening around her too. Her bridal party dancing around the room, family helping with the finishing touches and some genuinely lovely moments with her dad before leaving for the ceremony.

Zack also got ready at The Albert, wearing a green suit that worked perfectly with the colourful styling of the day. Having both of them at the same location also meant we could capture both sides of the morning without losing time travelling across Sydney.

A First Look in Mosman

Before heading to Gunners Barracks, Tina and Zack had their first look outside The Albert.

We are always fans of a first look when it works with the timeline. It gives couples a little time together before everything kicks off and also creates an opportunity for portraits while everyone is still fresh.

For Tina and Zack, it was relaxed, fun and very them. We photographed around The Albert before heading into the surrounding bushland and harbour foreshore for more portraits.

With the green suit, Tina’s white dress and those incredible flowers against Sydney’s native greenery and blue sky, the colours looked amazing.

Wedding Photos Around Georges Heights

One of our favourite things about a Gunners Barracks wedding is the variety you can get without travelling all over Sydney.

The surrounding Georges Heights area has bushland, sandstone, huge trees, harbour views and pockets that feel completely removed from the city. Then you turn around and suddenly Sydney Harbour is stretching out behind you.

Tina and Zack were happy to move, dance, laugh and have some fun with their portraits, which is always when we get our favourite photographs. Nothing needed to feel overly posed or too serious.

The result was a mix of romantic portraits, movement, colourful details and candid moments that still felt completely like them.

A Colourful Gunners Barracks Ceremony

The ceremony lawn at Gunners Barracks has one of the best outlooks of any Sydney wedding venue, with uninterrupted views across Sydney Harbour.

For Tina and Zack’s ceremony, the lawn was filled with colourful floral arrangements in pink, orange, peach and red. Against the green landscape and blue harbour, the whole ceremony looked incredible.

Tina walked through the surrounding greenery with her dad before making her way down the aisle to Zack.

And then came the bubble guns.

As Tina and Zack made their way back up the aisle, their guests filled the air with bubbles before Zack gave Tina a huge dip in the middle of everyone. It was chaotic, colourful and ridiculously fun.

We stand by our original opinion: more weddings need bubble guns.

Gunners Barracks Wedding Photography

Gunners Barracks is one of our favourite Sydney wedding venues to photograph because you get so much variety in one location.

There are beautiful sandstone walls, lush ferns and bushland, harbour views, historic architecture and plenty of little pockets for portraits. It means couples can spend more of their wedding enjoying themselves rather than disappearing for hours to drive between photo locations.

Tina and Zack were also brilliant in front of the camera. Their portraits were full of movement, kisses, dancing, laughing and the occasional dramatic dip.

Exactly how we like it.

A Colourful Sydney Harbour Wedding Reception

The colour continued straight into the reception.

The tables were filled with flowers, candles and colourful glassware, with playful stationery tying everything together. Once the sun disappeared, the reception took on a completely different atmosphere, with warm candlelight and florals filling the room.

The speeches brought plenty of laughs and a few tears before everyone moved outside for dancing under the lights.

And Tina had one more excellent wardrobe decision waiting for the dance floor: white cowboy boots.

Sparklers, Dancing and One Very Big Dip

By the end of the night, everyone was outside under the festoon lights with sparklers in hand.

Tina and Zack finished the night with another spectacular dip surrounded by their guests, this time with Tina’s cowboy boots pointing towards the sky and sparklers glowing behind them.

A pretty perfect ending to a wedding that never took itself too seriously.

Colour, family, genuine emotion, beautiful Sydney Harbour views and a couple who were happy to just enjoy themselves.

We could photograph weddings like this every weekend.
