Dan & Flynn’s Spring Wedding at The Stables, Bendooley Estate

A sunny spring day, blue skies, alpacas, plenty of colour and a dance floor that absolutely did not stop. Dan and Flynn’s wedding at The Stables at Bendooley Estate was everything we love about photographing weddings in the Southern Highlands.

Set amongst the rolling countryside of Berrima, The Stables at Bendooley Estate is one of our favourite wedding venues in the Southern Highlands. Just an hour and a half from Sydney, it feels a world away from the city, surrounded by paddocks, gardens and beautiful open countryside.

A Spring Wedding at Bendooley Estate

Dan and Flynn could not have asked for a better spring day in the Southern Highlands. We had beautiful blue skies, sunshine and the gorgeous grounds surrounding The Stables looking their absolute best.

Their ceremony was held outside on the grass overlooking the Bendooley Estate countryside. It is such a beautiful spot for an outdoor ceremony, with the landscape stretching out behind you and plenty of space for guests to enjoy the property afterwards.

There were plenty of tears during the ceremony, followed very quickly by laughter, hugs and celebrations as everyone made their way back towards The Stables.

And, of course, there were alpacas!

Our friends at Alpaca Kisses joined the celebrations, which made for some very fun photos and gave the guests a chance to meet a few furry Southern Highlands locals during the afternoon.

Wedding Photos Around The Stables at Bendooley Estate

One of the reasons we love photographing weddings at Bendooley Estate is the variety of locations without needing to leave the property.

Around The Stables you have open fields, long grass, country roads, beautiful gardens and that unmistakable Southern Highlands landscape. It means we can keep portraits relaxed, let our couples enjoy some time together and allow the location and light to lead the photos rather than turning the afternoon into one long photoshoot.

For Dan and Flynn, that meant plenty of movement, laughter and natural moments around the property while their guests enjoyed the afternoon celebrations.

A Disco Ball Dance Floor That Never Stopped

As the sun disappeared, everyone moved inside The Stables for the reception and the energy went straight up.

The room looked incredible, with beautiful florals, live music, plenty of personality and a disco ball setting the scene for what became one seriously good dance floor.

There were emotional speeches, plenty more tears and laughter, followed by a packed dance floor that barely slowed down for the rest of the night.

Dan and Flynn’s wedding was colourful, emotional, relaxed and ridiculously fun. The perfect gay wedding and exactly the kind of celebration we love photographing.
