Colourful Wedding at Centennial Vineyards Restaurant in Bowral

A Colourful Wedding at Centennial Vineyards Restaurant in Bowral

Some wedding days have you smiling just as much behind the camera as everyone in front of it. This one started with beautiful getting ready locations in Mittagong and finished with everyone celebrating beneath the fairy lights at Centennial Vineyards Restaurant in Bowral. In between? Pastel florals, shoes flying through the air and plenty of laughter.

We love photographing weddings in the Southern Highlands, and this day brought together so much of what keeps us coming back. Gardens full of character, open countryside and a couple happy to have fun and enjoy it all.

Getting ready in Mittagong

The day began in Mittagong, with lovely spaces for both sides of the wedding party to get ready. Light falling through the windows, a quiet moment on the verandah and flowering gardens gave us plenty to work with before heading to Bowral.

Shehani’s dress from Accapella Bridal looked beautiful among the greenery, with her bridesmaids in soft lilac adding a little extra colour. There were helping hands arranging her train, laughs in the garden and time to photograph the smaller details, including her Bared Footwear shoes and flowers by Lil Floral Cove.

These are some of our favourite parts of a wedding morning to capture. Alongside the portraits, there’s so much happening between friends and family that deserves a place in the story.

A garden ceremony at Centennial Vineyards Restaurant

At Centennial Vineyards Restaurant, the ceremony was set among the trees, with white chairs facing the couple and soft pink, lilac and white flowers bringing colour to the garden.

With the vineyard beyond and everyone gathered close, it was a beautiful setting to exchange vows. We photographed the wider scene as well as the little reactions unfolding within it, from the couple smiling at each other to their guests watching on.

That mix is what we love about documenting a wedding. The setting helps tell the story, but the people give it meaning.

Wedding portraits with a little personality

After the ceremony, we made the most of the grounds at Centennial Vineyards for portraits with the newlyweds and their wedding party.

There was plenty of room for everyone to get involved, and this group needed very little encouragement. A shoe toss, everyone squeezing in together and a little mucking around between the vines gave us some of our favourite frames.

We also found time for quieter photographs of the two of them, using the vineyard rows, garden paths and greenery around the restaurant. The soft floral colours and lilac dresses looked so lovely against those greens.

Wedding portraits can include a bit of everything. A few gentle moments together, a beautiful patch of light and a good laugh with your favourite people all belong in the same gallery.

Fairy lights, flowers and a Bowral wedding celebration

Inside the restaurant, the timber beams, fairy lights and candlelit tables made such a welcoming setting for the reception. Flowers carried the colour through from the ceremony, with styling by Frame It Events bringing the details together.

Then came the speeches, the first dance and a dance floor full of movement. We loved photographing the change in atmosphere as the evening unfolded, from everyone gathered around the tables to hands in the air beneath the lights.

From Mittagong in the morning to Bowral after dark, this wedding was full of the moments we love to photograph. Beautiful surroundings, plenty of colour and people completely enjoying themselves.
