Vinden Estate Homestead, Pokolbin | Hunter Valley
What an amazing day shooting this very pretty country wedding!
A three hour drive north of Sydney is the Hunter Valley region, known for its world class vineyards and wines (and weddings).
Erin and Tare’s wedding was held at the picturesque Vinden Estate Homestead in Pokolbin, right in the heart of the Hunter Valley.
This summer wedding was hot, 38-dregrees-celsius-in-the-shade hot. Yet the wedding must go on!
The rooms where Erin and Tare dressed were beautiful, allowing for some very pretty photos and videos to start the day due to the natural light spilling into the room.
The ceremony was held on the lawns overlooking the vineyard under the shade of a large Australian Gum Tree for much needed relief from the burning sun.
Was such an emotional ceremony, we won’t lie, we saw some tears in there.
The portrait session followed suit under the clouds of a growing thunderstorm. This turned the sunny skies hazy which was perfect for shooting as the sun can really make or break a shoot. The results of the wedding film due to the clouds gave it a much more cinematic vibe.
We just adored shooting amongst the grapevines and olive trees, these made for some stunning shots that the couple looked amazing in as the laugh, ran and spun around in.
The reception was held in this gorgeous white marque, the tables lined with australian natives to tie in the wedding which was a lovely touch.
The storm eventually hit and from a hot day, it sharply turned into a stormy, windy wet night. At times we lost all power, thankfully our portable light (the Godox SLB60W) kept the party alive until the generators came back on.
All in all, heatstroke and all, this wedding was fantastic, we just love country weddings, rain hail or shine!
