A Blue Sky Wedding at Crooked River Estate, Gerringong
Joanna and Riley’s wedding day was the kind that reminds us exactly why we love what we do. Relaxed, joyful, full of laughter, and set against one of the most beautiful backdrops on the NSW South Coast.
The day began with getting ready at separate Airbnbs around Gerringong. These quiet moments before the ceremony set the tone perfectly. We captured a handful of relaxed portraits, cheers with beers and champagne, and some truly heartfelt letter readings that had everyone feeling all the emotions early on. There is something so special about those slower moments before the day unfolds, and Joanna and Riley soaked them up beautifully.
From there, we headed to the stunning Crooked River Estate in Gerringong. As of this writing, the venue has since been rebuilt, making this one of the last wedding films captured in the original building. Even so, it was absolutely breathtaking. Perched high above the surrounding landscape, Crooked River Estate offers sweeping views across the vineyard, rolling hills, and all the way out to the coastline.
The weather could not have been more perfect. Clear blue skies stretched as far as the eye could see, creating the ideal conditions for wedding videography. With Crooked River Estate sitting so high, the drone truly came into its own, capturing the scale and beauty of the venue and its surrounds in a way that never gets old.
The ceremony was emotional and heartfelt, with more than a few tears shared among family and friends. Joanna and Riley’s connection was so genuine and easy, and it was felt by everyone watching. The ceremony ended with an epic walk back down the aisle through a shower of rose petals, a moment full of energy, laughter, and pure celebration.
As the afternoon rolled into the evening, the reception kicked off with speeches that were equal parts fun and charming. There were big laughs, meaningful stories, and the kind of atmosphere that makes everyone feel instantly connected. From champagne sprays on the lawn to a champagne tower that set the tone for the night, this wedding had all the fun you would expect from a relaxed country celebration.
Joanna and Riley are truly one happy couple, and it showed in every part of their day. From the quiet moments in the morning to the big celebrations in the evening, their wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are together. Joyful, genuine, and surrounded by people who love them deeply.
