Prelene and Jonathan’s wedding at Bendooley Estate was everything we love about filming weddings in the Southern Highlands. Emotional moments, beautiful scenery, family at the centre of the day, and a reception that turned into an absolute party from the moment the dance floor opened.
Their wedding was held at The Stables at Bendooley Estate, one of the most iconic wedding venues in the Southern Highlands. Even with the cold winds sweeping across the property all day, the atmosphere never changed. There were smiles, tears, laughter, and so much energy from start to finish.
One of the best parts about filming weddings at Bendooley Estate is how close everything is. Jonathan got ready at the Studio Cottages at Bendooley, while Prelene spent the morning getting ready across the road at Pegasus Cottage. Both locations are always beautiful to shoot in, especially for those quieter moments like reading letters before the ceremony. With soft natural light, country surroundings, and plenty of space to move around, they create such a relaxed start to the wedding day.
Prelene and Jonathan also brought along something incredibly personal for the day, their 1978 Holden Kingswood wedding car, complete with tin cans hanging off the back. It fit the vibe of the Southern Highlands perfectly and added so much personality to their wedding film.
Their ceremony at Bendooley Estate was made even more emotional by the fact it was conducted by both Prelene’s father and brother. There was not a dry eye in sight. These are the moments we love capturing most as wedding videographers. Genuine emotion, meaningful connection, and moments that cannot be recreated.
After portraits around the grounds of The Stables, the reception kicked off and completely transformed the night. Colour, dancing, huge energy, and nonstop celebrations filled the space exactly how a wedding reception should feel. The Stables always creates an incredible atmosphere for wedding receptions, especially once the lights dim and everyone settles into party mode.
