Bridal Preparations at Bendooley Homestead
The newly renovated Bendooley Homestead is hands down one of our favourite getting ready locations in the Southern Highlands. Jade spent the morning here with her closest people, soaking in the natural light with their fun girl energy!
The homestead offers space, privacy, and stunning backdrops all in one place. It is perfect for relaxed mornings, emotional moments, and beautiful portraits before the ceremony begins. If you are planning a wedding at Bendooley Book Barn, we cannot recommend the homestead highly enough for your bridal preparations.
A Summer Ceremony in the Gardens
Jade and Luke were married on the lawns of Bendooleyโs gardens on a stunning summer afternoon. Surrounded by greenery and soft sunshine, their ceremony felt intimate yet grand in the most effortless way.
Bendooley Estate is known for its European inspired gardens, and they truly shine during summer ceremonies. The space feels open, elegant, and timeless, making it ideal for couples who want a relaxed but refined Southern Highlands wedding.
Extended Cocktails by the Lake
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an extended cocktail hour at the Lakeside Pavilion. This is always a favourite part of the day, especially as the sun begins to dip lower in the sky.
The Lakeside Pavilion offers beautiful water views, gentle golden light, and a relaxed atmosphere that allows guests to mingle and celebrate without feeling rushed. It also gives couples the perfect opportunity to enjoy their day while we capture portraits at sunset.
Shooting on film ๐๏ธ
We also documented parts of Jade and Lukeโs wedding on film, shooting a roll of Kodak Portra 400 in medium format on our 2001 Pentax 645NII. Our couples can choose between 35mm film, medium format, or a blend of both depending on the look they love. Medium format offers incredible detail and depth, and paired with Pentaxโs beautiful glass it creates images that feel timeless and truly special. This roll was developed and scanned at Ikigai Film Lab in Melbourne using the Noritsu scanner, giving us those rich tones and soft, nostalgic colours that we adore. Film is such a huge part of our creative process and something we genuinely love bringing into a wedding day.
