There are weddings—and then there are weddings that feel like a full-blown adventure, set against one of the most breathtaking backdrops in NSW. Ben and Jessica’s celebration at Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat was one for the books.
Nestled between the Southern Highlands and the South Coast, Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat sits high above the valley with sweeping views of the Australian bushland. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and take a deep breath—the perfect escape from Sydney and an unforgettable setting to tie the knot.
The day began at the onsite cabins, where Ben and Jess got ready with their nearest and dearest. There’s something special about having the entire wedding party stay together—it sets the tone for a day that’s equal parts fun and relaxed. From the morning portraits, the energy was already infectious.
Their ceremony took place in the iconic Rock Cathedral—a dramatic natural amphitheatre that’s as awe-inspiring as it sounds. Sheltered from the strong winds rolling across the valley, the ceremony was heartfelt, full of laughter, and framed by the rugged sandstone cliffs.
For portraits, we split the session into two parts to chase the light—and it was so worth it. As the sun dipped behind the ridgeline, the sky lit up in that classic Aussie orange glow, and the wind? It only made the footage more cinematic. Hair flying, dresses billowing, golden light pouring through the trees—it was magic.
The party didn’t stop there. The reception kicked off with beautiful speeches and a surprise choreographed flash mob from their families (yes, you read that right). It all spilled out onto the deck under the stars, where dancing took over and didn’t let up until late into the night.
Ben and Jessica looked absolutely incredible and were an absolute joy to film. From start to finish, they were beaming—completely in the moment, totally in love, and surrounded by the best kind of chaos.
This wasn’t just a wedding. It was an experience. And we were so thrilled to capture it all.
